The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena is the sequel to the The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay shooter game that has Richard B. Riddick, the most dangerous criminal in the whole universe, at the center of events.
The games have been inspired by the popular “The Chronicles of Riddick” science fiction movies in which Riddick is played by Vin Diesel. In fact, the voice over effects within the games are performed by the same actor.

In the “Escape from Butcher Bay” part, Riddick must find a way to get out of the Butcher Bay prison by using both stealth and fighting strength. To gather information and collect different tools and weapons, you must interact with other prisoners and even complete quests for them.
After many adventures, Riddick manages to escape together with Johns aboard Hoxie’s (the prison warden) ship. In the Chronicles of Riddick universe, all this happens before the events in the Pitch Black movie.
In the second part of the game, “Assault on Dark Athena”, the story line continues uninterrupted: Riddick and Johns are in a cryogenic sleep aboard their ship when they are dragged inside a mercenary vessel ran by Captain Revas.
As usual, you must kill all the guards and mercenaries that try to capture you and find a way to get out the ship. The journey takes you through several locations and you must interact with various characters to find out what is going on. In the end, you learn that the only way to put an end to all this is to confront the captain: your victory will be the end of the game.
